I am a UX designer with a passion for storytelling and aesthetics. In a previous life, I was a fashion journalist. Over the last decade I have wrote for a handful of major publications, including Vogue, Elle.com and Fashionista.com.
Some of my obsessions include:
Art and Design
My major in college was Fine Art, and I took courses in photography, graphic design and figure drawing.
Fashion
In 2015, I received my Master’s in Costume Studies (fashion history) at NYU for the purpose of pursuing a career in fashion journalism.
I have spoken on the topic of modest fashion at multiple scholarly and public venues. I was the keynote speaker at the Meeting Through Modesty academic fashion symposium at NYU (pic of me speaking above) and was featured in the New York Times. I have also been a featured panelist at the Jewish Museum speaking on the topic of modest fashion (watch the full discussion here). And I was a featured guest on BBC Radio 4's Beyond Belief talking about the intersection of religion and fashion (listen to the episode here).
My favorite book of all time is Crime and Punishment, and I love anything written during the Gilded Age, specifically by Edith Wharton. But I’m not above a good beach read. Jennifer Weiner’s work will never not be good.
Reality TV
I recapped Real Housewives of New York for the New York Observer for two years. Read some of my work here.
Gaming
Currently, you can find me spending every free moment grinding Modern Warfare, but I occasionally dabble in Fortnite.
